Ellicottville’s Holiday Valley offers skiing, snowboarding, spa, golfing, the Sky High Adventure Park and Mountain Coaster.  Nearby is the Ellicottville Brewing Company, as well as many unique restaurants and shopping boutiques.

 

Pennsylvania: In Bradford, explore the Zippo/Case Museum, which houses the Zippo Repair Clinic and Zippo/Case Store.  You can also enjoy a self-guided tour to learn the rich history of two American icons. 

 

The Allegheny Reservoir/Kinzua Lake and surrounding area provides a variety of recreational activities such as camping, hiking, snowmobiling and boating. There are also several scenic overlooks with miles of hiking trails along the reservoir.

Lots to do without driving far

You don’t need a full week and a lot of money to get out of town for a few days.  There are many attractions and things to do within a short drive from Erie.

 

Ohio: Located in Ashtabula and on the shores of Lake Erie, Geneva on the Lake offers arcades, live music and entertainment, wineries, shopping, fishing, camping and golfing. 

 

You can also take a trip to Ohio Amish Country in Geauga County, the 4th largest Amish settlement in the world. You’ll find some of the best places for dining, lodging, shopping, parks, recreation, art, historical sites, and entertainment.

 

New York: Chautauqua Institution’s amphitheater offers a symphony orchestra, opera, dance/ballet, and theatrical performances. The institute also houses two galleries showcasing professional and student exhibits.
